So you’ve mastered the squat, perfected the explosion squat, and are getting antsy for more re- sults not only in those nice legs you’ve built but also in the body as a whole. Well in this case my friends I bring to you the explosion lunge. Done by very few individuals (at least in the right way that is), this exercise has to be one of the most coordina- tion based and all around balanced movements. Working those type II fast twitch muscle fibers; the explo- sion takes home the prize for improv- ing not only your strength, power, coordination and balance, but it also helps with that muscle growth and body fat burn! It won’t take long af- ter you start this movement to notice how fast your heart rate soars and how deep of a burn it gets in all of your body. The explosion lunge targets almost all muscle groups in the body-from type II fast twitch muscle fibers all the way to those movers and stabiliz- ers. Performed correctly, this exercise will help in building that great peak of the gluteus you’ve always wanted and also chiseling down those already well-defined muscular legs. With this exercise it’s very important you take your time with it since it can put a lot of pressure on the knees and if done incorrectly can lead to a range of injuries.
