Hannah feels so honored to be competing for her third year in the Her Universe Fashion Show. Though each year’s designs are very different, she admits that there is one very com- mon element between her three entries. “All of my designs have been inspired by strong and independent women,” she says, referring to her Asajj Ventress Gown in 2014, Runway Ready Ripley in 2015, and this year’s Furiosa Gown. The Fashion Show has given her the chance to push her creative boundaries, learning new skills and techniques, like draping, applique, wet molding leather, and jewelry making. Overall she is grateful for the opportunity to share her designs with the geek community and the confidence it has given her to pursue her dreams. Born and raised in Geneva Switzerland, Camille Falciola always enjoyed all things creative. At 17, she decided to journey across the pond to finish her studies in Los Angeles and pursue artis- tic endeavors. Although her sisters taught her the ways of the Force at a young age, it wasn’t until attending college that she discovered it was ok to let her geek flag fly, ultimately unleashing years of pent up geekiness. Having always loved dressing up for “L’Escalade” (a Swiss equivalent to Halloween) this led to her passion for quality costumes. Nonetheless, on a theater student budget, Camille taught herself to sew, saving on costs associated with recreating lavish designs. She practiced and diversified her sewing skills by making fandom inspired pieces for her close circle. Now, just a few short years later, this has led her to design and create custom commissions under the label “Frakkin Frocks”. After attending the first Her Universe Fashion Show, it inspired her to create more fandom inspired designs. She submitted last year and even though her sketches were not chosen, she was able to be a part of the experience by modeling the Her Universe line. Camille is thrilled to return this year as a designer and is excited to bring a little more magic to Muggles with her design.
